Welcome to Emory Church!

Thanks for taking a moment to stop by our website. Here you’ll find some frequently asked questions about Emory that we would like to share so you’ll feel right at home on your first visit.

Q: What time are the services?

A: Our traditional service is Sunday at 9:00 am and lasts about one hour.  At 6:00 pm, we meet for a contemporary prayer and bible study worship time based on that Sunday morning’s scripture lesson and message.

Q: What should I wear?

A: Dress in a way that is comfortable for you. Most people at Emory dress casually.

Q: What are the services like?

A: Emory’s 9:00 worship service is a traditional liturgical service. There are several hymns, scripture readings, an offering, prayers, an anthem, and a sermon. Everything is mapped out for you in the worship bulletin, so there won’t be any surprises.

The 6:00 pm bible study time is called ” Keep It Real” and is an informal gathering with a message, sharing personal stories, information, ideas, contemporary music and fellowship time.

Q: What do you offer for children?

A: Every Sunday we have a children’s message during the service. At 10:15 there are Sunday School classes for all ages. There is a nursery available for the 9:00 am service and children are always welcome to stay in the service.  To see more about our offerings for children, click here.

Q: What is your church passionate about?

A: We are passionate about Jesus, being in community, reaching out, and helping others!

Q: What if I’m not Methodist?

A: That’s totally fine! Everyone is welcome!

Q: What about communion?

A: We have communion on the first Sunday of most months.  The United Methodist Church has an open communion table. All are welcome to participate.  You’ll be invited to come forward by our ushers to receive, but we will be glad to serve you in your pew if you are unable to.
