Blessings Emory Family!

Hello Church!

It has been an interesting 3 plus months in the life of Emory Church and dare I say, our Country.  If you are like me, I continue to shake my head at the continuous chaos, hate, and division that is running ramped in 2020.

So, as your pastor, how do I feel about the current headlines in the media?  First off, this is all predicted to happen.  Scripture said it would happen.  Scripture says:

But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

I will not let myself get wrapped up in all the media hype that is going on because, what is the truth?  So, I stick with the only truth that you can hang your hat on and that is the Holy Word of God, The Bible.  I pray that you, the Church of Jesus Christ, believe that and live it.  If so, it makes day to day living much more tolerable, because God said these things will happen and that the promises of God are true and one day we will all be called home.

So, we the people of God must remember and live it as it says in Galatians 5: 22-25:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-25

The church can make a difference in this world, but it all starts with one.  Are you that one?  God called you for his purpose.  Will you answer that call?  Are you a Fan of Jesus or a Follower?  Look up Luke 9:23 and Galatians 2: 20 (homework) there you will find the answer.

God Bless you all and one day we will be together again.

In Christ!

Pastor Steve
