Happy New Year!
Sheryl, the kids and I want to wish you a very Blessed and Happy New Year! We are truly blessed with the many at Emory who are the hands and feet of Jesus. To everyone who continue to give it their all to the Glory of God, a heartfelt thank you!
Hebrews 12: 3 says: Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
We are a family of God who calls us friends and we must “continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” Philippians 2: 12b-13.
In the coming weeks I will be starting a sermon series on “Discovering Your Spiritual Gift.” My prayer for Emory going forward in 2020 is to be consumed with what each one of us, from young to seasoned, can do to further the Kingdom of God and to strengthen our spiritual growth. We all have room to grow in our faith and it starts by asking God in prayer to start helping us in the direction He wants us to go. Romans 12: 1-2 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Together we can grow our Faith by renewing our minds and do what is pleasing to God by implementing the Spiritual Gift that God has implanted in you. Open your hearts and allow God to have His will in your life.
Let us all be involved together in Love here at Emory and our community as we move forward in 2020 and beyond.
